After this workshop the participant will be able to:

• Know the anatomy of the bile ducts, their anatomical variations and their importance in preoperative assessment;
• Learn about fibropolycystic liver diseases, their differential diagnoses and what is important to describe in the report;
• Diagnosing and staging intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, hilar cholagiocarcinoma, papillary mucinous tumor of the biliary tract and gallbladder carcinoma, emphasizing the essential information that must be described in the pre-surgical staging report;
• Knowing and making the differential diagnosis between the various types of cholangitis, acute and chronic cholecystitis and their differential diagnoses;
• Making the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant lesions of the bile ducts;
• Learn about the main interventional biliary procedures and how to interpret CT/MRI scans in the post-procedure context;
• Interpreting liver function tests in patients with cholestasis.
