Welcome to the course Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Rectal Cancer: Defining Treatment Approaches of Atualiza 25! 

Learning objectives:  

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1) Develop knowledge about the technique and anatomy of magnetic resonance imaging exams intended for staging, restaging and assessing the response of rectal cancer;

2) interpret initial staging, restaging and response assessment exams;

3) interpret/evaluate the particularities of lower rectal cancer;

4) understand the impact of magnetic resonance imaging on clinical and surgical decision-making in patient management.

Course Description:

This course focuses on MRI for the evaluation of patients with rectal cancer. Theoretical classes will cover key aspects of MRI in the evaluation of rectal cancer, including anatomical assessment, specific examination protocols, and the full spectrum of staging for mid, high, and low rectal tumors, as well as restaging after neoadjuvant treatment. The course will focus on clinically relevant issues and new developments in diagnosis and treatment.
