Description

Welcome to the course Urothelial Lesions from the Kidneys to the Bladder: Everything a Radiologist Needs to Know of Atualiza 25!

Learning objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

– Understand the imaging protocols dedicated to the evaluation of urothelial lesions, from planning to image interpretation.

– Assess hematuria using imaging methods, correlating clinical and radiological findings to identify causes.

– Identify imaging features related to the detection and staging of high urothelial and bladder tumors, using standardized systems such as VI-RADS.

– Recognize the accuracy, challenges, and limitations of VI-RADS, including the identification of “pitfalls” and less common histological subtypes.

– Evaluate the practical applications of classifications such as nacVI-RADS and post-TURP VI-RADS.

– Differentiate the imaging characteristics of atypical and aggressive histologies, as well as identify the implications for clinical management.

– Address rare and challenging cases, applying the learnings to complex clinical situations. – Identify gaps in current guidelines and discuss the reasons for the expanded use of imaging methods in the diagnosis and monitoring of urothelial lesions.

– Explore new imaging applications in urothelial lesions, highlighting technological advances and future perspectives.

Course syllabus:

We will cover the evaluation of urothelial lesions, from the kidneys to the bladder, using imaging tests. The course will have a practical focus, with reading and discussion of clinical cases guided by experts in the field. The course will explore everything from specific imaging protocols and the assessment of hematuria to the detection, staging, and monitoring of urothelial tumors, with an emphasis on the use of systems such as VI-RADS.

Furthermore, the course will address the main challenges related to atypical and aggressive histologies, rare cases and gaps in current guidelines, as well as new technological applications in clinical practice.
